Sign Firm's Cherry Pickers

13 March 2009

Leading sign installation and maintenance company Xmo Strata, has added to its fleet of cherry pickers as a result of increased refurbishment work.

The company has taken delivery of two highly specified additional Ford Transit 110 T250m four wheel drive cherry pickers, each giving two operators the ability to work safely at heights of up to 13.4 metres (44 feet). The articulating flyboom is provided by Altec and the units are fitted with a load sensing system, platform overload alarms, and the boom can be controlled from the ground or from the platform. There is a low maintenance boom stowage system.

Xmo Strata has a carefully-won reputation for leadership in the field of health and safety and the cherry pickers enhance the company's ability to provide work at height without incurring potential liabilities for itself or its customers.

“As the recession has begun to bite, the number of new sign installations has decreased, but the amount of refurbishment and maintenance work we are doing has increased significantly," said Xmo Strata Managing Director Steve Martin. "We are using our Vicom product and a special package of refurbishment services to help our customers maintain bright, clean signs for longer, and the cherry pickers are essential for this kind of work.”
