Carry On Training: Xmo Strata Engineers Top-Up Their Skills

6 June 2008

Sign maintenance company, Xmo Strata, is sending engineers on further training to enhance their skills in the operation of site machinery and equipment.

Engineers are currently attending a four-day comprehensive course to gain an NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) operators card. The course covers hazard identification, load weight assessment, the operator's safety code, relevant legislation, slinging techniques and the inspection of equipment.

“Signware can weigh anything up to two tonnes and when it is necessary to lift this into position using a crane vehicle it poses a significant risk,” said Steve Martin, Managing Director, Xmo Strata. “Continually assessing training needs is essential to ensure that employees are not working beyond their capabilities or qualifications.”
