Xmo Strata wins worldwide accreditation

14 January 2008

For the third year running, nationwide sign installation company Xmo Strata has achieved accreditation to the International Contractors Safety Rating System (ICSRS), a quality standard which is so stringent that it is normally applied to firms working on nuclear power stations and sub-sea pipelines.

Following a tough assessment conducted by specialist company Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Principal Consultant, DNV Colin Bennett said: “The high standards achieved by Xmo Strata continue to improve year on year.  A number of excellent procedures have been prepared, introduced and established over the last 12 months.”

The report stated: “Senior managers and directors continue to carry out safety tours on a regular basis and a regular safety message from the managing director continues to be published.  Employee training requirements have been updated, for example, with PASMA manual handling, and UKPIA training has continued throughout the year.

“An emergency plan was introduced, planned inspections continue regularly, and hazard classification has been established.  Accident investigation and report procedures are maintained and enhanced electronically, and accident analysis has been introduced,” it said.

The assessment took place on 18th December 2007, at Xmo Strata’s headquarters in Marden, Kent.

Managing Director Steve Martin said: “This qualification enables us to work on live petrol forecourts across the world.  We pride ourselves in having the most highly trained teams in the industry.”
