All attendees were willing to participate wholeheartedly and contribute to the continued efforts of the company to create an even safer working environment.

Hearts and Minds

Xmo Strata will be supporting an Energy Institute (EI) initiative to show its commitment to improving its safety culture and setting clear safety objectives.

This initiative will investigate the varying views of health and safety and help employees identify which view they take and how they can develop a more proactive approach to safety at work:

Pathological‘Who cares as long as we're not caught’
Reactive‘Safety is important, we do a lot every time we have an accident’
Calculative‘We have systems in place to manage all hazards’
Proactive‘We work on the problems that we still find’
Generative‘SHE is how we do business round here’

Hearts and Minds Award 2009

As an incentive to all Xmo Strata employees, a trip to New York staying at the prestigious Marriott hotel in Times Square, is on offer for the team that demonstrate a proactive approach to health and safety throughout 2009, including improved quality near-miss reports and the ability to identify and eliminate risks at source.

The winner of this prize will be announced at the next safety day in December 2009.
