Incident reporting

13th April 2006

In the past two months, two companies have been reprimanded by different customers of Xmo Strata because one of their employees suffered relatively minor injuries on site and they weren’t reported until several days later.

Following on from the two ‘Near Miss Bulletins’ issued recently, it is very important that engineers ring their Supervisor immediately if they suffer an injury of any sort. Supervisors should make sure that the Operations Manager and the Project Coordinator are informed immediately. The company is trying to encourage an open culture where it can learn from mistakes, investigate root causes and put procedures in place that will prevent someone else getting hurt.

As a company, Xmo Strata is committed to achieving an Incident & Injury Free working environment and it will only achieve this if is shares both good and bad practice, analyse what it can do better and share the learnings with each other. Xmo Strata is happy to share lessons learnt with its customers and even its competitors, so that they can educate others to work safely and improve safety standards across the entire industry.

Please continue to be alert, work safely, look for near misses and report anything that could be done safer.
